Since 2007, World Relief Durham’s (WRD) purpose as a faith-based humanitarian nonprofit has been to empower low-income refugees and other immigrants to rebuild their lives, become integrated in the community, and achieve economic self-sufficiency. After years of fleeing violence, war, famine and extreme poverty, their greatest hope is that they’ll find a safe place to rebuild their lives and call home.

 

Thanks to the generosity of businesses like Spotlight Realty and people like you, we served 1,600 individuals this past year from Afghanistan, the DRC, Syria, Burma, Eritrea, Iran, Central African Republic, and more. Together, we are bringing about a more welcoming community that embodies our best values, true Southern hospitality, and our call to work for justice and welcome the stranger.
